11 killed in passenger van attack amid tribal clash in NW Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (AA) – At least 11 people, including three women, have been killed and several others injured in a gun attack on passenger vans in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, according to police.
Gunmen fired on a convoy of passengers in the Lower Kurram area, killing at least 11 passengers and injuring many others, Afzal Khan, a local police officer, informed the media.
The death toll is subject to change as communication with officers on the ground was not clear, the police officer added.
In September, at least 46 people were killed in the tribal clashes in the Kurram district near the Afghan border. However, tribal elders later resolved the violent conflict and announced a cease-fire.
